The End of an Era, The Stinehour Press is Closing!
Sun, 20 Apr 2008 06:41:21 PDT
I find this post very disturbing to write and a sad reflection on our current economic situation here in the US, as well as an unfortunate look at the trend in book publishing to find the cheapest and “good enough” printing press for the production of Fine Art Books. Where are most “fine art” books printed now?…China! That is not to say that
Canadian socialist IRONY DU JOUR: CBC calls Zimbabwe’s media “state-run”

Canadian socialist IRONY DU JOUR: CBC calls Zimbabwe’s media “state-run” This morning, the state-run, state-owned CBC Newsworld state-media employed news anchor, Suhana Meharchand, referred to Zimbabwe’s “state-run news media” and how they are accusing the political opposition of treason. Canada’s state-owned, state-run CBC never refers to itself that way! Now. Countdown to liberals and sundry leftist and downright Marxist CBC apologists emailing me those seething reprimands insisting

Sun, 20 Apr 2008 08:22:41 PDT
"You know over the last several weeks since she fell behind, she's resorted to what's called 'kitchen sink' strategies," Obama said, per ABC News' Sunlen Miller. "She's got the kitchen sink flying, and the china flying, and the, you know, the buffet is coming at me.

Ads on Contraception: How Far is TOO Far?
Thu, 24 Apr 2008 05:27:44 PDT
Ok, so maybe the people who run the ad campaigns for Durex Condoms should keep their mouths shut for once. It’s great that the makers of condoms want to advertise and promote safe sex practices….I think….but how far is too far? If there’s a fine line between promoting safe sex and being crude, then they’re walking a mighty thin line! I’m not so sure that a giant billboard with a woman’s mouth taped on either side with a package of XXL condoms near her face is helping people everywhere realize

This time last week I was at the ‘Future of Web Design’ conference (FOWD), listening to some of the most interesting speakers in the field. I found the first lecture ‘Inspiration and Design Trends’ by Patrick Mc Neil most interesting, and ‘Design sign off in 12 steps’ by Larissa Meek the most practical. ‘Inspiration and Design trends’ by Patrick Mc Neil This man predicted the future! Apparently, the up and coming design trends are: Brown earthy colours – as a background colour this colour
The Plumbiest Plumber In All The Land!
Thu, 24 Apr 2008 05:25:53 PDT
This morning I am home so that our water heater can be replaced. As a side benefit we had him take a look at our garbage disposal which stopped working a couple months ago. After about five minutes of fiddling he pulled out one of CootieBoy’s metal spoons - it was completely mangled and nasty. And voila - the disposal works again. I LOVE our plumber. And now he and three of his guys are in the garage replacing the water heater. And can I tell you? The prices he quoted to replace it were AWESOM
The end for patent trolls?
Sun, 20 Apr 2008 10:01:13 PDT
IT'S good news for small-time inventors but a blow for some of the giants of technology. A bill going through the US Senate that would have slashed the damages inventors receive when patents are infringed has been kicked into the long grass.
